To provide thorough, compassionate, quality healthcare through the building of patient-physician relationships, evidence based medicine, and holistic awareness.
Apple Tree Medicine seeks to serve and benefit the surrounding communities, primarily through giving patients the attention, care, and health education they need in order to improve their quality of life.
Dr. Weeks has been involved in healthcare for the past decade, during which the business of medicine has evolved rapidly. Increased interference from health insurance companies and increased bureaucracy have resulted in patients facing greater wait times, dramatically decreased time with physicians, increased costs, and decreased satisfaction with their care. In just the last 4 years, physicians have become increasingly distressed at the level of care that they are able to provide in the highly restricted time they are given with patients. Dr. Weeks founded Apple Tree Medicine as a solution to this problem. By not contracting with health insurance companies, Apple Tree Medicine will have the freedom to serve all patients equally regardless of insurance status, and the ability, through decreased overhead and increased efficiency, to provide patients with the time they need in order to receive optimal health care at an affordable price.
Key Company Principles
Family Medicine Physician
E.L. Weeks D.O.
Dr. Weeks has bounced around a lot but has decided to put down roots in Williamsburg. Born in 1984, she was raised in the lakes region of Metro Detroit and traveled each summer with her parents and brothers to Maine to visit extended family. For college she chose a small liberal arts school in upstate New York. Colgate University is located in Hamilton, which boasts a population of less than 7,000 including the students. Here she discovered her love of small towns and after deciding to become an osteopathic physician she moved to Lewisburg, West Virginia for medical school. Going in she knew she wanted to pursue primary care and ultimately chose Family Medicine. She then moved to Blacksburg, Virginia for her internship and residency. During the course of her training she discovered the way medical corporations and insurance companies influence the practice of medicine. Dissatisfied with the way they restricted her time with patients and thereby limited the quality of care she could provide, Dr. Weeks set out to find a different way. She opened Apple Tree Medicine, PLLC so that she would be free to follow her conscience and care for her patients.
