A Note From Dr. Weeks
It is with deepest sorrow and great regret that Apple Tree Medicine will be shutting down. An unfortunate truth is that most businesses “take a loss” in the first year, i.e. bring in less money than it costs to keep the business open, and that it typically takes 2-3 years for a medical practice to reach its full potential. Every penny that patients paid me went towards the office rent and utilities. Sadly, I didn’t make it to the point where income met the costs of operation before my savings and loan money ran out. I had hoped to work at Apple Tree Medicine for the next 30+ years, dedicating my time, attention, and care to the improvement of my patients’ quality of life. I mourn the loss of this opportunity but it has been an honor to serve.
Practical matters that need to be addressed:
Apple Tree Medicine will continue to be open during its normal business hours with appointments for me to see established patients through Friday May 24th, 2019.
Patients who would like a copy of their chart may get one free of charge. Additional copies will cost $5 per chart replication.
Once a chart copy is ready it can either be picked up at the office during business hours prior to 5/25/19 or the copy can be faxed or mailed to the destination the patient choses.
I will keep all of my patients’ charts until August 1st, 2030 in case they are ever needed. After that time, they will be destroyed in a manner that ensures confidentiality.
Please let me know if you have any questions moving forward.
